WHAT IS SOLVENT RECOVERY or RECYCLING

Solvent recovery is a form of waste reduction. The process separates useful materials from waste solvents.

HOW IS SOLVENT RECYCLED

Waste solvents are collected and recycled using the process of distillation. The volatile and non-volatile solutions in a solvent are separated when the solution is boiled. The vapours are then condensed back into liquid which is then able to be used again.

TOP 2 BENEFITS OF RECYLCLING SOLVENTS

1. Environmental Benefit - Solvent recycling reduces your environmental impact as hazardous waste is difficult to dispose of…you cannot simply pour it down the drain or tip it on the ground. Recycling your waste eliminates the need for disposal. In addition, recycling reduces emissions and reduces the use of raw product making it more sustainable. It also allows you to do your part in protecting the environment.

2. Economic Benefit – As a majority of solvent waste is liquid, recycling can recover anything up to 95% of the solvent for reuse. This dramatically lowers the volume of the waste product, which in turn reduces the cost of taking waste to landfill. The recovered solvent can be reused saving cost on purchasing virgin product to do the same job.
